AIS-RTI Math Pre/K-5

Welcome back everyone!

This year I will once again be teaching the AIS-RTI Math Program.  You will see me either pushing into your classroom or pulling out specific students to work in small groups or individually on math curriculum.  My room assignment has once again changed-so please look for me in room 118...

My job is to focus on the specific mathematical needs of each individual student or small group.  I also provide a more intense program to those who need additional assistance.  I pick my "victims" better known as-"truly  lucky students" according to the outcome of the benchmark tests given in September.  Also all students who score either a one or two on the New York State Math Test will be given additional math instruction.

My goal will be to improve math computation & application and then to return the students as quickly as possible to their regular classrooms.

The RTI Program works due to the "team work" between teachers, LTA's, students, and  their parents.

So I will be asking for your help...

You can start by practicing your numbers (say them, write them, identify them, which one is "more", or "less", order them, can you say them backwards?) know those number facts (add, subtract, doubles, count by 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's, all the way up to the 10's!) and practice your multiplication facts-because if you know the multiplication facts-you know all the division facts!

(grades Pre-K-5)

What is RTI?

What is RTIResponse to Intervention (RTI) is a multi-tiered approach to help struggling learners. Students' progress is closely monitored at each stage of intervention to determine the need for further research-based instruction and/or intervention in general education, in special education, or both.

Parents and Families Resources

Families are critical partners in effective implementation of RTI. As states and school districts work to implement an RTI process that provides early help to struggling students, parents need to understand the essential components of RTI and the roles they can play in supporting their child’s success.
