Schenevus Foundation for Excellence in Education |
Dear Parents & Friends of Schenevus Central School:
Some of our fondest memories are of our families, the community in which we grew up, our friends, and our school. We are very proud that our school, Andrew S. Draper, is a thriving focal point of the community.
Current program highlights include opportunities for college-level and advanced placement coursework; student trips to New York City, Boston, and Washington D.C.; a new work-based learning program with student internships and job shadowing; a new business management partnership with the Cooperstown Central School District; athletics teams reaching league championships and sectional tournaments; a recent state-wide ranking of 18th for average SAT scores; and a 100% graduation rate. There is a lot to celebrate!
The Schenevus Foundation for Excellence in Education is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide funds and resources for learning opportunities beyond the existing curriculum, provide equipment and facilities not funded through other means, support opportunities for creative ideas and innovative programs, and promote community and alumni awareness of educational challenges and solutions. Please consider helping us with this important mission.
This year’s Annual Campaign will support the school’s efforts to improve its science and technology programs. The school is developing a new high school program which will focus on the science, technology, and policy of energy. Teachers and administrators are also working hard to improve science and technology education in the elementary grades. The Board of Directors of the Foundation has chosen these programs and new creative ideas related to science and technology as a priority for funding.
The Foundation also hostied the first annual Dragon Run 5K Trail Run & Hike on Sunday, October 19, 2022 at the Betty & Wilbur Davis State Park. Additional race information can be found here.
You can help the Schenevus Foundation for Excellence in Education to make our school be the best it can be. Your tax-exempt contribution will help us continue to support the excellent academic, athletic and co-curricular activities offered at Schenevus Central School. Thank you from the Board of Directors
