2014-15 Budget Information

District residents passed the proposed budget for the 2014-15 school year 124-38. The bus proposition on the ballot also passed 129-28. The five-year seat on the Board of Education went to Kathryn Fredette with 128 votes and the two-year seat went to Matthew Sweeney with 127 votes.

The proposition to fund the Worcester Free Library did not pass 75-81.

The 2014-15 budget totals $8,053,014, increases spending by 3.65 percent, or $283,604, over the 2013-14 budget and calls for a tax levy increase of 2.31 percent, or $68,197, which is at the district’s calculated tax levy “cap.”

The Board of Education worked very hard to develop a budget that supports a quality educational program but also recognizes the difficult economy and the constraints it puts on tax payers. Emphasizing operational efficiencies while also improving our educational program has been our focus throughout the process.

Attached below are several documents related to the budget including the budget newsletter and presentation, 3-part budget detail document, School District Budget Notice, New York State Report Card, Property Tax Report Card, Fiscal Accountability Supplement, Administrative Salary Disclosure, Exemption Impact Report, and budget vote exit survey results summary.

We all share responsibility in educating our children; please call, email, or stop in if you have any questions, comments or concerns.

Sincerely,

Thomas G. Jennings, Superintendent
