          Word games are fun opportunities for parents and children to spend time together and for children to learn a good deal about sounds and words.  Research has also shown that children who engage in reading activities at home outperformed in reading achievement and reading related skill development those classmates whose parents did not engage in these games.  Here are 12 easy-to-implement word games that parents and their children can play.
